As the leader of the product development team, I spearheaded the creation of the IEC blog to address the need for quick and easily accessible information on various topics relevant to the IEC community. This platform enabled multiple contributors to collaborate online directly on articles.
My objective was to create a blog with a user-friendly interface and a minimal learning curve, as most contributors were already familiar with Microsoft Word. To accomplish this, I built the blog using WordPress, one of the most popular Content Management Systems (CMS), and guided my team through the development process.
In addition to ensuring ease of use for contributors, I needed to design the site with responsiveness in mind, a challenging requirement during the early days of mobile devices and tablets.
As the project manager, designer, developer, and team leader, I successfully built the site within 10 days and handed it over to users for testing. My team and I collaborated efficiently to achieve the project goals.
IEC hosted the website, and I oversaw maintenance and updates of WordPress versions, templates, and plugins. Since IEC owned several other WordPress websites, I automated maintenance processes to reduce costs associated with repetitive tasks.
